Greg Grimes
The perfect mix of leadership and personality. Greg’s primary career is serving as a Battalion Chief for the City of Allen. He has served in the Texas fire service for over 15 years as a fire fighter and paramedic. He has his Associate’s Degree in Fire Science & Fire Officer and he is currently enrolled at the University of North Texas completing his baccalaureate degree in applied sciences. Ever motivated to broaden his horizons and skills, Greg carries numerous certifications that include rescue technician, hazardous materials, confined space, swift water rescue and technical rope. He also holds his master fire fighter certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, in addition to Fire Officer 1 and 2. He was instrumental in developing the City of Allen’s trench rescue response team and acquiring their impressive equipment cache. Along the way he has acquired significant experience in writing grant proposals.
Greg’s strengths shine when he is teaching. He is confident yet very friendly and personable in his interactions with students. He has gained substantial teaching experience through serving as associate faculty at Collin County Community College. His responsibilities also include course development, skills proficiency and testing of both academy and volunteer fire fighters. He is a fantastic asset for REO.
Greg is an avid outdoorsman and grabs any opportunity to participate in hunting, fishing, and riding ATV’s. The world of water is another favorite playground as he enjoys wakeboarding, wake-skating and wake-surfing. Barefoot and slalom skiing gives Greg a thrill too. To the dismay of many, Greg also enjoys catching and collecting native Texas snakes.
